CBSE boards follow NCERT Physics Class 12 syllabus, with some exam pattern differences.

The syllabus is divided into 2 Parts (14 Units).


Part A: Electricity & Magnetism

  2. Current Electricity

    • Biot–Savart law, Ampere’s law, moving coil galvanometer, Earth’s magnetism, magnetic properties of materials.

  4. Electromagnetic Induction & Alternating Currents

    • Faraday’s laws, Lenz’s law, self/mutual induction, transformers, AC circuits, resonance.

  5. Electromagnetic Waves

    • Displacement current, properties of EM waves, spectrum.


Part B: Optics & Modern Physics

  1. Ray Optics & Wave Optics

    • Reflection, refraction, lens formula, optical instruments, interference, diffraction, polarization.

  2. Dual Nature of Matter & Radiation

    • Photoelectric effect, de Broglie wavelength, Davisson-Germer experiment.

  3. Atoms & Nuclei

    • Rutherford & Bohr model, atomic spectra, radioactivity, nuclear fission & fusion.

  4. Electronic Devices

    • Semiconductors, diode, transistor, logic gates, communication systems.
